A Peek In

Was in the neighborhood, so I dropped in,

To say hello, to some long missed friends,

Everyone so busy and much has gone on,

I hate that I've been absent, "I've been away too long".

Time and life, a juggle at best,

Living in two worlds, not having much time left.

I am full of words, that overflow,

To encourage and love,

To share what I know.

But a peek in is all I can give,

With much to do and days to live.

My pen with my paper,

Where I left it that day,

When the world called my name

And I stepped away.

Though my journals are full,

There are notes and half thoughts,

I think of my collegues, and forgot you, I have not!

Soon, I pray a day will come,

Where I can write from my heart,

While embracing the sun.

When the leaves are falling

and the air has a chill,

Sharing my heart

And those things that are real.

A peek in just for today,

To remind my hubfriends,

I haven't gone away.

With one more keystroke,

I bid goodbye,

The day already demanding

All of my time...

Beautiful and oh so sad. It is so unfair that our lives are so busy that we can not spend more time doing what we want to do. You have written what I so often want to say, but every time I attempt to write poetry, I just sound depressed. Thank you for brightening my day and for sharing your precious thoughts.

...yes I do concur with Miss May - welcome back indeed - you write with so much ease - it sounds/reads like a poetic conversation and has the uncanny ability to touch this reader in a most direct and personal way - hubbravo and yes Miss May is another writer who has that affect on me ..... lake erie time ontario canada 4:01pm

Hey Dallas,

It is so great to see you. I totally understand and could have written this myself. I loved it! I finally wrote something recently but hadn't for way too long. Hope all is well with you!
